At  Patea Area School, we are committed to physical health and well being of our young people. Students are encouraged to participate in the wide range of individual and team sports that are available. We have numerous sports available and  additional teams can be established to suit individual skill and interests.

Students also have the opportunity to extend their skills by taking on coaching roles, gaining skills and qualifications that will prove valuable throughout life.

A fitness program runs at 7.00am each morning in terms 1 and 4 (summer season).

All junior and middle school students take Physical Education through PE Curriculum Area. PE teachers are highly experienced and their programs are designed to support our students in development.

At senior level Patea Area School also runs an extensive SportX program. This course offers unique sporting and outdoor educational opportunities, and allows students to develop the confidence to become effective leaders.

In addition to this the Whole Day Course has a range of sporting and fitness based courses.
